Eyebrow pomade is a highly pigmented, cream-based formula that is designed for filling and defining eyebrows and is recommended for those who want bolder-looking brows. It is best used with a small, angled brush to allow for precise application. The creamy texture adheres well to the skin and brow hairs, making it ideal for those with sparse or uneven eyebrows. They tend to be smudge-resistant and long-lasting, ensuring that brows stay in place throughout the day.
When shaping your brows at home you need to determine the purpose for grooming. Is it that they are overgrown, sparse, or shapeless and need some maintenance?
Well-shaped brows will always help frame your face.
Shapeless: In other words, you are looking to accentuate and define. The first step to any brow journey is mapping – this is a technique used by beauty industry experts and brow specialists. You must identify:
This will be your perfect brow shape.
Overgrown: Having too much brow hair is better than having less, it allows room to experiment with shapes and thickness. After mapping take a spoolie and brush the hairs up, trim any stray hairs along the top edge of your brows using a small, curved brow scissor with a rounded tip. The final step is to tweeze any strays. Maintenance is key to keeping brows in shape.
Sparse: Do not worry if your brows aren’t as full as you’d like, the power and creativity of makeup can fix that. Choose your desired brow formula such as a pomade, pencil, or pen, and use to fill and shape your eyebrows. Again, trailing the route of your brow map, draw thin hair-like strokes to create dimension and your desired brow shape.
Shaping your eyebrows can play a significant part in your appearance:
Accentuates facial features: Groomed brows can help enhance your facial features by providing a frame for your eyes, helping them to appear larger and more defined. Shaping your brow to complement your facial shape can also help bring out your favourite features.
Face shapes

Long – Straight brow
Round – Angled brow

Balances facial symmetry: Brows can play a crucial role in balancing facial symmetry.
Youthful appearance: Neatly shaped, fuller eyebrows can help give your face a more youthful and rested appearance whilst providing a little lift.
There are a few different types of brow pencils and pens to suit any brow style you’re after. Our Precision Brow Detailer and Beautifying Brow Wand both have fine tips for precision application. Alternatively, you might want to try our Signature Brow Styler – this is a felt tip style brow pen with an ultra-fine tip.
1. Starting with clean, dry eyebrows groom hairs into place with a spoolie or your Brow Master Brush.
2. Using your chosen eyebrow pencil that complements your hair colour and skin tone, create hair-like strokes in the same direction of your hair growth. Usually, this will be upwards towards the front of your brow, and then diagonally towards the tail.
3. Use a spoolie to blend in the pencil after application to soften any harsh lines for a more natural look.
4. If desired, sweep a clear brow gel such as our Finishing Brow Gel through the hairs to set.
5. Apply a highlighter or the highlighter within the Beautifying Brow Wand under the brow bone to illuminate and lift the appearance of your arch.
The key to fluffy looking, fuller brows with a natural finish is hair-like strokes and building texture into the brows. Start in the middle of your brow creating short hair strokes, take this out to your tail, then make your way to the front of your brow using any remaining product on your brush, or if you’re using a pencil, make sure you use a very light hand. The trick is to only fill the gaps where needed and add shape to define.
Now that gaps are filled, it’s time to fluff it up. Using our Sculpting Brow Builder, coat and condition your brows with a formula that will grip the tiniest and fairest of hairs for instant volume and a tint. The tiny bristles mimic hair texture for an instant brow boost.
If you’d prefer not to use a tinted product, use a clear brow gel to finish. This will lock your brows in place with mega hold throughout the day without added colour, use our Finishing Brow Gel for a weightless full and fluffy finish.
Brows can become more sparse over time for many reasons including stress, lifestyle and diet. Age can also be a factor as hair growth can slow down and become thinner.
To fill out brows, let them grow out as much as possible as there may be hairs you are removing which could be encouraged into the rest of the brow. To fill in sparse areas, use eyebrow makeup such as brow pencils, gels, pens or pomades to help create the illusion of thicker brows.
