WHAT IS MINERAL MAKEUP?

Mineral makeup is made of minerals, which are substances found in the earth and is a type of natural makeup. Generally, it relies on minerals instead of synthetic ingredients. Clean, pure and naturally protective our mineral line contains properties such as:

Iron Oxide – Pigments for natural-looking colour
Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide – Provide natural sunscreen protection
Mica powder – Creates an instant glow and shimmer.

With a short and clear ingredient list, the risk of an allergic reaction or irritation is reduced. Mineral makeup is suitable for all skin types, but particularly recommended for sensitive skin.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MINERAL MAKEUP?

The powder formulation of mineral makeup makes it buildable yet subtle. It minimises pores and fine lines, provides coverage where you need it, and improves your complexion with continued use.
A little goes a long way, meaning it takes relatively less product to create the desired effect.
100% natural ingredients makes it far less likely to irritate, clog pores or cause an adverse reaction.
Mineral powder binds to the skin’s natural oils or your moisturiser, providing a long-lasting, natural and creamy finish.
Oil-free and non-comedogenic, meaning it will not clog your pores.
Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide not only provide UVA/B sun protection but are also known to have powerful anti-inflammatory and soothing effects.

WHAT DOES MINERAL MAKEUP CONTAIN?

Mineral makeup tends to contain fewer ingredients and therefore potentially fewer irritants.

Main ingredients include:
Iron oxide – In cosmetics and skincare products, Iron Oxides function as colourants. They are the main pigments used for matching skin tones in foundations, powders, concealers, and other makeup for the face. Iron oxides can also be found in eyeshadows, blushes, powders, and lipstick. They are resistant to moisture, so they won’t easily bleed or smear. and have excellent staying power, which means that the product will last for a long time without needing to be reapplied.

Mica – A naturally derived silicate mineral from rocks, Mica comes from the Latin word micare which means ‘to shine’. The element can be cleanly broken down into a fine powder, used for makeup. It gives makeup high-performing shining, glittery, dewy and opacity benefits. Used for brightening and illuminating, you can find Mica in light-reflecting foundations, shimmering eyeshadows, nail polishes, illuminators and more. Often referred to as ‘natures glitter’, Mica is suitable for all skin types.

Zinc Oxide / Titanium Dioxide – Zinc Oxide is an inert earth mineral used as a thickening, lubricating, and sunscreen active ingredient in cosmetics. Along with Titanium Dioxide (another mineral sunscreen active ingredient), Zinc Oxide is considered to have no risk of skin sensitisation. Zinc and Titanium Dioxide work by scattering and reflecting damaging UVA and UVB rays off the skin’s surface.

IS MINERAL MAKEUP ONLY SUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?

Mineral makeup formulas are for all skin types, however, oily, acne-prone, sensitive, or combination skin can particularly benefit from using mineral makeup, due to its pure formula free of potential skin irritants.

IS MINERAL FOUNDATION DRYING?

No, our Irresistible Face Base Foundation is not drying. Its’ pure, super-fine formula is buildable and feels creamy once applied to the skin.

IS MINERAL MAKEUP SUITABLE FOR MATURE SKIN?

Absolutely, it contains natural minerals with no harsh chemicals that can aggravate the skin. Mineral makeup provides excellent coverage for uneven skin tone, fine lines, and blemishes, for a fresh and revitalised appearance.

IS MINERAL MAKEUP EASY TO APPLY?

Yes, mineral makeup is effortless to apply, all you need is your product and our Precise Mineral Kabuki Brush. Kabuki brushes are ideal for the application of mineral makeup, as they have fluffy bristles and a large surface area making it effortless to buff product seamlessly into the skin.

HOW DO I APPLY MINERAL FOUNDATION?

Applying mineral foundation is easy. First thing to remember – a little goes a long way. Dispense a small amount of Irresistible Face Base into the lid and use our Precise Mineral Kabuki Brush to swirl it into the product, making sure to tap off any excess. Then, buff into the skin using a circular motion, starting from the centre of your face and moving outward. If you’d like more coverage in certain areas, repeat these steps where desired.
