Absolutely yes. Eyeshadow is endlessly adaptable and can be used for eyeshadow, blush, contour and of course eyeliner.
You can create a sultry liner with hues of brown, a smokey liner with black, an ombre of black and brown for a shaded feel or of course a coloured liner. There are no rules, apply this the same way you would a liquid liner and depending on how you control your brush, you can diffuse the colour for a smudged appeal or razor-sharp line.
Pro Tip: For a liquid liner affect you can scrape out some of your eyeshadow and mix it with a few droplets of water to change the consistency for an easier glide. The perfect brush to achieve this look is our Eye Apply & Define Brush, the angled side is meticulously crafted for precision liner looks such as these.
For a more natural eye look, simply take your favourite shade of Luxurious Liquid Liner and steadily draw a thin line just above your lash line, keeping as close as you can to your lashes so that there are no gaps. If there are any gaps or uneveness fill in using short, light strokes. It may take a few attempts to master your technique.
For a bolder eye look, create a winged liner, big or small – depending on how bold you want to go.
When it comes to choosing eyeliner for mature skin, it’s generally recommended to opt for softer, more subtle shades that enhance your eyes without overpowering them. Here are some eyeliner colour suggestions that work well for mature skin:
Brown – Brown eyeliner is a versatile option that provides a softer, more natural look. It complements most eye colours and can help define your eyes without appearing too harsh or intense. Opt for either our Skyliner in Twilight for a deep brown pencil with staying power or our Luxurious Liquid Liner for those wanting a lighter, softer brown colour with a richly pigmented formula and a precise pen tip applicator.
Navy – Navy blue eyeliner is a flattering option to bring out the natural brightness in your eyes while providing a softer contrast than black. Our Skyliner and Luxurious Liquid Liner are both available in navy – or if you’re looking for some more glam, try our Highliner Glimmer Gel Pencil in Black & Blue for a little sultry sparkle.
Plum or deep purple – These shades work well, especially for those with green or hazel eyes. Plum or deep purple can add warmth and create a subtle pop of colour. Our Highliner Glimmer Gel Pencil is also available in Black & Purple, ideal for those wanting to try a little hint of purple.
A winged line can seem a little daunting, but with a smooth liner and a few easy steps, you’ll be equipped to create a beautiful crisp wing in minutes.
1. Take our Luxurious Liquid Liner and draw a diagonal line starting from the outer corner of your eye.
2. Next, draw along your upper lash line, from the inner to the outer corner, keeping the line as close to your lash line as possible.
3. From the top of your diagonal line draw another line to join it to the outer third of your lash line, making a triangle.
4. Finally, fill in the triangle with your liner. If needed, use a small angled brush and concealer to clean up the edges and perfect your wing.
If you’re going for a deeper, bolder eye then dark eyeliner under your eyes can be an ideal way to intensify your look. You can do this by lining your waterline with either Skyliner or Highliner Glimmer Gel Pencil. This will give you a sultry look and define your eyes. If you want something a little softer, try using a blue or brown, rather than a black liner.
You can also apply liner to your lower lash line to intensify your look and define your eyes. This liner technique can open your eyes up a little more than applying liner in the waterline, as the lower lash line eyeliner can give the illusion of wider eyes. For a softer look opt for a lighter shade of liner here or even blend your Skyliner or Highliner Glimmer Gel Pencil to soften and diffuse the edges.
We would recommend applying eyeliner after your eyeshadow, but before your mascara. This way your liner will not be disturbed by the application of eyeshadow and you won’t find your lashes are getting in the way of creating the perfect liner look.
