2. Use a bronzer to warm up your face without creating any harsh shadows or lines.
3. Use the Sculpting Brow Builder for your brows to coat the hairs you have, giving you the most natural-looking brow.
4. Add a hint of Celestial Skin Shimmer on the cheeks and a little on the nose to give a glowing look to the face without looking too heavy or unnatural.
5. Apply one or two coats of your chosen Mii mascara to open your eyes and add a touch of definition.

The order of application for makeup is overall subjective with new techniques such as ‘underpainting’ growing in popularity. Here we will take you through a simple order essential to creating a flawless base.
1. Start with skincare: Begin by cleansing your face, applying a moisturiser, and using sunscreen. Skincare forms the foundation for your makeup, providing a smooth canvas.
2. Primer: Apply a makeup primer to create a smooth surface for foundation and other makeup products. Primer helps makeup adhere better and stay in place.
3. Foundation: Use foundation to even out your skin tone and provide a base for the rest of your makeup. Choose a shade that matches your skin tone and apply it evenly with a brush, sponge, or your fingers.
4. Concealer: Apply concealer to cover blemishes, under-eye circles, or any imperfections you may want to hide. It can also be used to highlight and brighten your face in contrast to contour to add definition and shape your face the way you desire. Use a shade that matches your skin tone or is slightly lighter for under-eye areas.
5. Setting powder: Set your foundation and concealer with the Illusionist Translucent Powder to reduce shine and help makeup stay in place. Focus on areas prone to oiliness.
6. Blush, bronzer, and contour: Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks, bronzer to areas you want to warm up (e.g., the temples, cheekbones, and jawline), and contour to define features like the cheekbones and nose.
Contouring can be done both before or after foundation application, and the choice often depends on your personal preference, makeup style, and desired result. Here’s a breakdown of both approaches:
Contouring before foundation:
Contouring after foundation:
The choice of contouring before or after foundation is a matter of personal preference. There are no strict rules, so feel free to experiment with both techniques to see which one suits your makeup style best.
Yes, makeup products do expire. Check the back of your product where you will find an open jar symbol with a number followed by a ‘M’. The ‘M’ and the number represent how many months the product will remain stable and safe to use from when it was opened.
Underpainting is a technique where you apply contour, concealer and sometimes blush first and then follow with your foundation on top. This technique neutralises uneven tone and eradicates any harsh lines or unwanted shadows to reveal a flawless base.
When using the underpainting method, you should follow this specific order for applying face makeup:
Cleanse and moisturise: Start with a clean, freshly washed face. Apply your regular moisturiser and allow it to fully absorb into the skin. This step provides a hydrated canvas for makeup application.
Colour correction underpainting: Apply colour-correcting products to neutralise any specific skin concerns ensuring you select the correct shades of colour correctors based on your needs:
Blend the corrector gently over the areas with discolouration. It’s essential to blend well to ensure that the corrected areas seamlessly blend with the rest of your skin.
Next, apply cream contour to your face, this is where underpainting comes to life as we are placing it underneath the foundation as opposed to on top. This will act as the bone structure of the face.
Cream Contour: Sculpt the high points you want to define such as cheekbones, jawline, nose and forehead. Blend until you see the contrast.
Concealer: Use concealer to highlight and brighten the face under the eyes, bridge of the nose, chin, middle of the forehead and for extra crispness below the cheekbones to make them pop.
Foundation or skin tint: The premise of underpainting is to create a natural base with no harsh lines. Layering foundation over concealer and contour provides a seamless veil where discolouration is neutralised, and the face looks naturally defined.
