HOW TO:HALLOWEEN NAILS
From ghostly webs to vampy drips, this Halloween nail guide from @simlynail has all the tricks and treats to keep your nails looking spellbinding.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Bloodline Cherry – A vibrant cherry red crème
Chocolate Roulade – A metallic chocolate brown
Onyx – A jet black crème
Frosted Rose – A light rose and silver metallic
STEP 1: BASE
Start with a layer of our vitamin-rich To Have + To Hold Base Coat to create a smooth surface, extending the life of your manicure whilst promoting healthier-looking nails. A strong base is key to keeping your enchanting designs looking flawless for longer.
STEP 2: STARRY HAUNTED SKY
- French tip magic – Start with a classic French tip using Bloodline Cherry for a bold, blood-like edge.
- Add stars – Use Chocolate Roulade and a dotting tool to place dots of varying sizes across the nail.
- Shape the stars – With a fine nail brush, pull the paint from the centre of each dot outward in four directions to create a star effect.
- Metallic accents – Finish each star with a small metallic dot in the centre using Frosted Rose for an enchanted vibe.
STEP 3: SPIDER WEB TIP
- Create the base line – Using a fine brush, apply Onyx along the edge where a French tip would begin.
- Draw the web – Add three thin vertical lines across the tip of the nail.
- Connect the lines – Draw small, curved lines connecting the vertical lines to create a web shape.
- Add a metallic highlight – For extra depth, trace a mirroring curved line just above the web using Frosted Rose. This touch of shimmer will give your spider web a supernatural glow.
STEP 4: VAMPY FRENCH TIP
- Classic vampy French – Paint a classic French tip with Bloodline Cherry.
- Add drips of “blood” – Place a dot on the nail with a dotting tool. Then, with a fine brush, connect the dot to the tip for a blood-dripping effect.
- Spooky dots – To finish the look, add dots in various sizes with Chocolate Roulade to create texture and depth.
STEP 5: FROSTED COBWEB
- Black background – Apply two coats of Onyx for a deep, night-sky base.
- Draw the web – Use Frosted Rose to draw three lines starting from one corner of the nail.
- Connect the web – Draw curved lines between the straight lines to form a cobweb that’s both eerie and elegant.
STEP 5: SEAL
Complete your Halloween manicure by sealing each nail with Shine + Shield Top Coat. The glossy, mirror-like finish will deepen the colours and adds lasting protection, keeping your designs hauntingly perfect.
